Congratulations to the cast & crew of “Shape of a Grave” for an award-winning 2023-2024 UIL One-Act Play season! The team tackled a challenging play with a Northern Ireland dialect, and an intense emotional subject, and hosted the district competition for the first time in Vandegrift history. This class works all year for this intense competition, and learn a ton about teamwork. Awards at Zone completion included: Team 1st place, Lo Hernandez- All Star Crew, Sam Preston & Rachael Richman- Honorable Mention All Star Cast, Maile Boswell & Izzy Riley- All Star Cast.
Vandegrift then hosted the UIL District competition for the first time ever, and hosted schools from all over LISD and RRISD. It was an intense week! We did not advance, but we did not walk away empty handed! All Star tech- Lyra Williams, Honorable Mention Cast- Izzey Riley, All Star Cast- Maile Boswell. We Can’t wait for the Spring of 2025 UIL Competition!
